Eugene Kaspersky named 2012 Influencer of the Year

Eugene Kaspersky, co-founding father of Kaspersky Lab, a developer of secure content and threat management solutions, was named the 2012 Influencer of the Year by Channelnomics. Eugene was given this honour for his visionary thinking and IT security expertise, which not just enabled his company, Kaspersky Lab, to supply additional value to its partner base, but in addition contributed to shaping the technology industry and the IT channel at large.

The 2012 Channelnomics Channel Influencers Awards recognised the contributions and impact of both vendor and solution provider executives and leaders who guide channel decisions and play a job in reseller buying habits.

Winners were selected from hundreds of highly detailed and passionate nominations in 12 categories submitted by Channelnomics readership beginning in November and voted on by a blue ribbon panel of objective evaluators. Channelnomics’ editorial team served because the final arbiter.

“Few within the technology industry have had the type of year Eugene Kaspersky had in 2012 and that was reflected within the volume of thoughtful nominations and judges’ comments he attracted for this award,” said Chris Gonsalves, editor of Channelnomics who oversaw the Channel Influencers Awards programme.

According to Channelnomics, Eugene have been a “formidable force” in the IT and channel community. Guiding and influencing Kaspersky Lab’s business strategies, he’s helped to noticeably grow its partner community.

Notable accomplishments of Eugene Kaspersky and his eponymous company cited by Channelnomics include:

* His renowned team of security analysts at the Global Research & Analysis Team who were on the forefront of identifying and corralling state-sponsored cyber malware consisting of Flame, Duqu and Stuxnet.

* A sales organisation it is 100-percent channel-driven, which boasts a few of the industry’s best reseller features, including unprecedented levels of deal control and support, in addition to many of the channel’s highest combined rewards and best margin protection.

* Eugene Kaspersky’s personal commitment to maintain the channel top of mind and his continual goal of higher understanding partners’ challenges.

* The company’s consistently innovative security software protecting customers.

This recognition comes at the heels of several other highly coveted IT industry recognitions. Some time past three months, Eugene was awarded V3’s Technology Hero of the Year accolade for the invention of the Flame malware, and named certainly one of CRN’s Top 25 Innovators of their list of Top 100 Executives inside the IT Channel for 2012.

Eugene was also selected as certainly one of Foreign Policy Magazine’s Top Global Thinkers for 2012, an honour that celebrates the brave contemplating those on the innovative of the worldwide debate over freedom of expression.

His personal achievements have also helped Kaspersky Lab earn praise from industry analysts.  Most noteworthy, in early January 2012, Kaspersky Lab was named a “Leader” inside the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Endpoint Protection Platforms* for the second one year in a row.
